Development of comprehensive, detailed training plans, curriculum and materials to support implementation of new Merchandise Financial Planning processes and system.
One of the world's largest privately held specialty retailers, operating over 1,600 stores under multiple banners, brands and store formats.
The client had recently selected a new, integrated Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) solution to transform its existing business processes and ultimately provide one version of the truth to leverage across the organization. As part of its implementation initiative with Parker Avery, the client needed a comprehensive training program and training support to prepare for a domestic and international implementation.
The Parker Avery Solution
The Parker Avery Group provided merchandise financial planning and training expertise to ensure a smooth transition to the client's redesigned merchandise financial planning process and new application. Key activities included:
• Working with the client's training and change management committee to define course content, formats and delivery timing
• Developing classroom-training presentations that included business process overviews, system screenshots, software usage and business process steps for executing pre-season and in-season merchandise financial planning
• Developing classroom training activity scripts for use in conducting hands-on classroom activities during training for business users
As a result of the project, the client was able to successfully train their planning and finance teams on the new MFP solution. Additionally, The Parker Avery Group provided the client with post-training "lessons learned" to incorporate into future training.
